Our tentative program for today was a visit to Volendam, a popular tourist attraction in the Netherlands and well-known for its old fishing boats and the traditional clothing. We started our trip to Volendam around 10 am...going to the Amsterdam Centraal and taking bus no. 116 to the Volendam (about half an hour journey). We arrived at Volendam around 12 pm.
Volendam is a fishing and harbour town. Here, there is a lot of sailing boat and traditional fishing boat "parked" along the harbour. It is a sailor-atmosphere that you can't find easily elsewhere. Here we had spent most of our days doing some shopping for souvenirs. We also got a chance to take photos in a Dutch custom. Going back around 6 pm. A very tiring but enjoying day at Volendam. I've done my retails therapy session here. Something that I've always done back in Malaysia, together with my wife. Usually our retail therapy session was scheduled during the weekends. Venue, mostly at Midvalley. Love to do retails therapy a.k.a. window shopping with my lovely wife again.
