Based on the statistics, it has been recorded that about 1.84 million of foreign workers were registered in Malaysia (this is not included with almost half of the stated number of the unregistered workers). Most are employed in the manufacturing, plantations and construction sectors. The majority of the foreign workers are from Indonesia (64.7%), followed by Nepal (10.7%), India (7.4%), Myanmar (5.2%) and Bangladesh (3.2%). Maybe the following video proves why Malaysian government like to hire foreign worker instead of the local, especially in the construction sector.
